Your Guide

My name is Dalton Cook, and I’ve spent the past two decades pursuing walleye across every corner of Manitoba. Raised near Virden, my passion for fishing was sparked on the banks of Pipestone Creek alongside my dad, where early days of casting for walleye and pike quickly evolved into a lifelong obsession with mastering this province’s diverse waters.

From the shallow prairie lakes of the southwest to the remote shield waters of the north, I’ve dedicated thousands of hours to understanding fish behavior, seasonal transitions, and the subtle adjustments that turn average days into unforgettable ones. Each body of water has sharpened my instincts and built the foundation for a methodical, results-driven approach to guiding.

Now entering my eighth season on Lake Winnipeg, I’ve come to deeply respect the scale, power, and unpredictability of this world-class fishery. Whether I’m drilling through the ice or running the big lake in summer, my goal is always the same: to consistently put clients on trophy-class greenbacks, with an emphasis on safety, preparation, and success.

As the owner of Cooks Outfitting & Guide Services, I take pride in offering a professional and personalized experience for every angler who steps in my boat. My guiding style is built on hard-earned knowledge, top-tier equipment, and a genuine passion for the water — backed by strong local connections and a deep commitment to delivering results.
